Millennials and Gen Z: Trump shows signs of being a genocidal dictator, we shouldn’t vote for him

Baby boomers: OOOOO Is your Safe Space being violated by his comments snowflake??? How AWFUL IT must be to have a REAL man for president instead of OoOoBamA

Trump, after being voted into office: *leaves the UN human rights council, puts hundreds of young children into prison camps and tent cities, takes away valuable items like rosaries similar to the removal of rings during the Holocaust, puts babies and toddlers into foster homes/orphanages, literally treats ACTUAL CHILDREN like prisoners for wanting a better life elsewhere*

Baby boomers: oh….oh no….

Millennials and Gen Z: *stare into the camera like they’re on the office*

psiblue

bold of you to assume the boomers have reached the “oh no” point

Do you guys know why I’m so adamant about you vaccinating your kids?

I’m immunocomprimised. It means my immune system is weakened. I have very weak lungs and I rely on herd immunity to stay safe.

I’m allergic to the shot people get for whooping cough. How do I know? I had a 3 week, painful reaction. Now, this was a while ago, before shit hit the fan with the whole anti-vax movement.

But do you know what my doctor told me? It was safer for me to get the shot that I’m ALLERGIC TO than rely on herd immunity because if I get the shot, I’ll be in moderate-severe pain for about 3 weeks max. If I get the disease, I will die. My lung capacity is bad enough, but my body is too weak to fight the disease.

So not only are you putting your child’s life at risk by not vaccinating them, you’re putting mine and all the other people who cannot be vaccinated at risk because of a selfish decision that isn’t backed by science.

fairygodrobot

god THIS. vaccinate your kids and vaccinate yourself too. my dad is also immunocompromised and relies on herd immunity. neither he nor anyone who lives with us can get live-virus vaccines (we can only get ones where the virus is inert/dead) because if he’s exposed to the weakened virus he will contract whatever disease it is, so herd immunity is SUPER important for everyone in our family.

the anti-vax bullshit HURTS people. my dad has been hospitalized before just from a common flu because people he knew didn’t get their flu shots, came in to work with the flu, and got him sick. even with my dad’s healthy lifestyle, the fact that he’s immunocompromised from leukemia means even a really common and easily treatable disease (the flu, bronchitis, whooping cough) could straight up kill him.

fuckin. vaccinate.

TIL that Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldren couldn’t afford the NASA life insurance policy. Also, before launch, the three signed hundreds of autographs to be given to their families should they not return so they would have valuable memorabilia to sell.

I don’t think most people realize how terrifying the Moon Landings were. They look back at it, and see this great achievement in human spaceflight but don’t grasp the gravity of the situation. (No pun intended)

OP mentions Michael Collins, who is often forgotten. He was the third member of the Apollo 11 mission, who manned the Command Module whilst the other two landed with the Lander Module. People might hear that and thing he got the short end of the stick, but honestly… I’d argue the opposite. At 20:17:40 UTC on Sunday July 20 1969 the Landing Module touched down on the Moon. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldren spent 21 hours, 36 minutes on the surface of the Moon before beginning ascent to rendezvous with Michael Collins in the Command Module.

This is where things get unnerving. The thruster used on the Lunar Ascent Propulsion System used a hypergolic fuel, which is a fuel that spontaneously ignites when the fuel and oxidizer meet. Hypergolic fuels are useful for when spacecrafts need reliable ignition or repeated ignitions, however they’re nasty things. The specific fuel used for this thruster was a mixture of Aerozine 50 and Dinitrogen tetroxide. These are incredibly toxic, and more importantly incredibly corrosive. In fact, they are so corrosive that once you fire an engine you essentially have to completely rebuild it in order to reuse it. This means that the engine on the Lunar Ascent Propulsion System had never been fired before.

That engine was their bridge home. If it failed, they would be stranded on the surface of the Moon. As mentioned the Moon Landing lasted roughly 22 hours. For twenty two hours the two astronauts were on the moon, completely unsure if the never-before fired thruster would even fire up. Completely unsure if they’d be able to go home.

This picture shows the entirety of the human race on January 21st, 1969. All of it except the man who took it, that is. Micheal Collins stayed back on the Command Module during the mission to await Aldrin and Armstrong’s return… or potential lack thereof. This earned him the title “The Loneliest Man in the Universe”. For about 50 minutes for each orbit around the Moon Collins would be out of contact with the earth. That means for about 50 minutes during each orbit he’d have no way to contact any other human, completely alone over 230,000 miles from earth. For roughly 50 minutes during each orbit Collins had no clue whether his fellow astronauts were still alive, and them not returning was a very real possibility. Orders were in place that if the other two could not return to the command module that Collins would return alone.

This wasn’t just some disaster protocol either. This was a very real possibility. Both the astronauts, and NASA were very much prepared for it to happen. So much so that Richard Nixon, the president at the time, had a speech prepared if it were to happen. It doesn’t sugar coat it. It starts off

“Fate has ordained that the men who went to the moon to
explore in peace will stay on the moon to rest in peace.
These brave men, Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin, know
that there is no hope for their recovery.“

(Full Speech Here)

If that isn’t bone chilling, then I’m not really sure what is.
People often romanticize space exploration, but back then, and even today, well… this is the reality of it. All of that is what astronauts go through.

why do men want to be gynecologists? why? why. gynecology is for females and should be practiced solely by women imo

eyesofsomeonenew

I don’t think a fuckboy is gonna go through years of college education with the mindset of “I’m doing this so I can put metal and cotton swabs in vaginas”…. (more)

lets talk about the arkansas gyno, paul becton jr. who took nude pictures of his female patients

lets talk about dr. john black (gyno) who sprayed a chemical found in drain cleaner into his female patients’ genitalia

or dr. robert hadden, a gyno who performed unwilling oral sex on his patients and staff member

or dr. bruce sylvester smith, the gyno who raped (at least) one patient and sexually harassed many others.

and while we’re at it, lets talk about male gyno, dr. john marshall who tricked, drugged, and raped his patient.

or dr. paul kelly, an indiana ob-gyn who sexually abused his patients and over-prescribed dangerous drugs.

and dr. kevin pezeshki, who abused several patients and the list goes on and on

so actually tons of male doctors abuse their patients, and the cases of female doctors abusing their patients is almost non-existent. so thanks for your comment, but next time, try doing a bit of research.

let’s talk about my patient yesterday who complained that every male ultrasound tech that has performed a vaginal ultrasound on her pushed the probe way too far and clearly had no concept of vaginal comfort during penetrative procedures

let’s talk about how not once have i hurt any of my patients during vaginal ultrasounds, and if they have issues with penetration such as vulvodynia or a history of endometriosis, i take a long, slow time to do the ultrasound and check in frequently, and will attempt to do an abdominal ultrasound instead if warranted

let’s talk about how it is most certainly because i am a woman and therefore i understand my female patients and their comfort levels much more than any dude could.

Every time someone says something like “oh yeah a guy would never go through all that trouble just to rape someone” there are a dozen examples of someone who has done just that

in all honesty i love bts and their music, but like each comeback is some sort of awful waiting game to see if seokjin gets treated properly or not and it’s really draining. we shouldn’t have to worry about whether seokjin is going to get a good amount of screen time or lines in every comeback or album or not. and if he did get an okay amount of lines the previous comeback, we shouldn’t have to be scared that he’s going to be given less on the following comeback. we shouldn’t have to have conversations about whether or not seokjin deserves to be shown or heard. point blank, this game is a game that i’m truly tired of playing. bts is a seven member group, and every member is important and deserves to be treated properly. seokjin deserves a good amount of lines, screen time, and absolutely way more respect than he is given.
